Joseph Lin (he/him) is a Staff Attorney at the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF), where he represents low-income Asian immigrant workers in wage theft, workplace exploitation, and other economic justice matters. His practice combines direct representation, community education, and advocacy to strengthen protections for AAPI workers who are often excluded from traditional labor systems.
Previously, Joseph represented and supported immigrant workers through removal defense, humanitarian immigration matters, and community-based advocacy at the National Immigration Project and Catholic Charities Community Services. He also supported the development of citywide immigrant-focused programs at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs and administered social services programs at Asian Americans for Equality. Joseph holds a J.D. from Rutgers Law School – Newark and a Master of Urban Planning from CUNY Hunter College. Joseph is also a board member of CAAAV: Organizing Asian Communities and is a founding member of Gòngmíng Collective for Language Justice.
