Erica Francisco-Lau

Erica Francisco-Lau is a Litigation Associate at Methfessel & Werbel, practicing in New Jersey and New York. Her work focuses on complex litigation, including civil rights, employment law, intellectual property, insurance defense and general liability matters.

She represents corporate and institutional clients in high-exposure cases and brings a strong understanding of risk, governance, and compliance. She is also a part of her firm’s AI Governance Committee, which is responsible for overseeing the ethical and responsible use of AI systems within the firm. The committee ensures compliance with regulations, addresses risks, and promotes best practices in AI development and deployment

Ms. Francisco-Lau earned her J.D. from New England Law | Boston, with a concentration in Intellectual Property, and her LL.M. in Intellectual Property from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. She also serves as Northeast Regional Governor for the National Filipino American Lawyers Association (NFALA) and Treasurer of APALA-NJ, where she is committed to mentorship, leadership development, and advancing diversity in the legal profession.
