Louise M. Lingat is an Associate Court Attorney with the Unified Court System (UCS)/Office of Court Administration (OCA). She is currently Court Attorney to the Honorable Adetokunbo O. Fasanya, Judge of the Family Court, Queens County. Louise is also an Adjunct Professor of Legal Writing at Cardozo School of Law.
Prior to being a court attorney, Louise worked for the child protective agency of New York City, known as Administration for Children’s Service/NYC Children’s Services (ACS) as an agency attorney handling various child abuse and neglect cases.
Louise obtained her J.D. from Maurice A. Deane School of Law, Hofstra University and obtained her B.A. in Political Science and Theology from Fordham University. While in law school, Louise was a research assistant at the Hofstra Youth Advocacy Clinic. Louise is a published author of a note entitled “Keeping the Family Together: Why New York Must Amend Evidence Rules to Protect a Parent’s Right to be a Parent with Family Court Review” (2019).
Louise is currently a Board of Director for Filipino American Lawyers Association of New York (FALA NY), and At Large Trustee with the National Filipino American Lawyers Association (NFALA). Louise previously served as President of FALA NY from 2023-2024. She is also a member of the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY), National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), and Queens County Bar Association (QCBA).
Louise is a Moderator for The Modern Advocate: Mastering Courtroom Skills in a Changing Legal Landscape program.
