Meeka Bondy is the founder of Meeka J. Bondy, PLLC, a boutique law firm advising companies at the forefront of media, entertainment, and technology on the deals that shape how content, innovation, and intellectual property are developed, licensed, distributed, and monetized.
With more than 30 years of in-house and law firm experience, Meeka advises clients wherever media, technology, and intellectual property meet in the content lifecycle. Her practice focuses on complex commercial transactions involving content acquisition, licensing, distribution, digital media, emerging technologies, and strategic partnerships. Drawing on decades of front-line industry experience through major shifts in business models, distribution platforms, and emerging technology, she brings sophisticated lawyering, strategic judgment, and executive perspective to transactions that drive business value today and position companies for tomorrow.
Before founding her firm, Meeka was Senior Counsel in the Technology Transactions & Privacy Practice at Perkins Coie, where she also served as Co-Chair of the Film & TV Industry Group, Co-Chair of the Women in Media and Entertainment Group, and Co-Editor of the firm’s Age of Disruption blog.
Earlier in her career, Meeka held senior in-house legal roles at HBO, Time Warner Interactive Video Group, and Time Inc. At HBO, she oversaw legal matters supporting domestic syndication and worldwide distribution of HBO and Cinemax programming. At Time Warner Interactive Video Group, she served as Vice President, Legal Affairs for Mystro TV, a pioneering interactive television and digital video technology venture. At Time Inc., she was the principal attorney for PATHFINDER, the company’s early online portal for Time Inc.’s iconic magazine brands.
Meeka began her legal career at Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP, widely recognized as the world’s first computer law firm. She received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where she now serves as a Trustee and Chair of the Women’s Leadership Circle.
A frequent speaker and thought leader on the future of entertainment, technology, intellectual property, AI, negotiation, and leadership, Meeka has appeared at industry programs including Digital Hollywood at CES, Game Developers Conference, WICT’s Leadership Conference, and Advanced Imaging Society events, and has been quoted or featured in publications including Business Insider, The Hollywood Reporter, and Variety. She is chapter advisor to The WICT Network: New York and a founding board member of Asian Americans in Media (AIM) and Future Now Media Foundation.
